About us

Site Notice is a family business, run by me, Tim, and my other half Sarah.

I've spent most of my working life as a contractor in financial services, managing projects all over the country. That's actually how we met, back in 2015 — I was running a small project for a well-known high street bank, resolving customer complaints, and Sarah had been working in that same complaints department for years.

Eleven years later we have a house together and two beautiful children. In that time I've worked on thirteen different projects, often staying away from home during the working week. So it's time to use those skills in a different way — building something of our own, and getting more quality time together as a family.

Where the idea came from

My oldest friend, James, runs a successful landscaping and groundworks business, with twenty-plus people working for him. We've been friends most of our lives — I remember him starting out almost thirty years ago, and in between jobs I even did a stint for him as a general labourer.

Even back then I was the one who enjoyed playing with data (I know — quite sad), and James asked me to put together a report of local planning applications that might be of interest to him, so he could send out flyers and write to the ones that looked like real work.

Years later, when Sarah and I started weighing up ideas for a business of our own, I kept coming back to that report. Wouldn't that sort of information be of interest to everyone in the trades? That was the birth of Site Notice.

What Site Notice does

We're not a marketing agency. We don't run your ads or design your flyers. We give you something simpler and more powerful.

We take publicly available information and present it in a simplified way — so you can see the potential jobs you want, with the tools to approach the potential customer.

What you do with that data is up to you — a letter introducing your business, or a flyer through the door.

Ten minutes a week should be enough to keep your pipeline full.
